About our scanner bot
If you found this page in your server logs, hello - here's exactly what visited you and why.
LightmorphicVitalsBot is the scanner behind Lightmorphic Vitals, a free website checker for small businesses. When someone enters a domain on that page, the bot fetches the site's homepage plus a small number of key pages (typically 10–20), reads the HTML, and produces a health and AI-readiness report.
What it does and doesn't do:
- It only visits a site when a person has actively asked for a scan of that exact domain.
- It fetches a bounded number of pages, once, with timeouts - it never crawls continuously or site-wide.
- Repeat scans of the same domain are served from a short-lived cache rather than re-fetching.
- It doesn't execute JavaScript, submit forms, or try to get past logins.
- It respects a robots.txt block: scans of sites that refuse bots report exactly that to the person scanning, and stop there.
How to block the bot
If you'd rather it never visited your site, add this to your robots.txt:
User-agent: LightmorphicVitalsBot Disallow: /
Blocking it costs you nothing here - but it's worth knowing that the same rule turns away other well-behaved crawlers, which is one of the things a Vitals scan reports on. The common questions cover what the scan looks at and whether it affects your site.
